Family
My wife Monica, State Dept, always supported my running since college. We’re excited to have our daughter, Sofia, join us at the Trials. I’ve come from a family of runners, my dad and uncle both ran at Notre Dame. My brother set the bar high in both HS & college, so I tried to follow suit. My sister was an All-American & Penn Relays Champ in the 4x800. Our mother supported us through all of the racing throughout the years!
Greatest Accomplishment
Aside from my marriage and the birth of our daughter, having the mentorship and guidance of all coaches throughout the years has proven especially valuable- in life and running. Professionally, I always dreamt of becoming some hotshot analyst at a bank or fund. Once I got a taste of that life at a financial analyst in internal tax at a law firm, I dreaded everyday. I felt compelled to join a team again, similar to the environment I felt through running, and commission in the US Coast Guard. This opportunity has changed my life and the element of service has proven especially fulfilling.
Interesting Story
This build up has proven especially challenging as I ran the NYC Marathon in NOV leading up to the Trials. Training with 100mi+ weeks became a balancing act of caring for my pregnant wife, walking our 2 golden retrievers, my regular USCG obligations, and standing 12hr watches in the National Command Center outside of my standard role. Following the NYC Marathon, my wife and I welcomed our beautiful daughter Sofia on Dec 12. The newborn schedule of mult evening wake ups and exhaustion offered an entirely new challenge of 20mi workouts on 3-4hrs of sleep some weeks. Thankfully “Dad Strength” has come to the surface with the help of my teammates to get me to the line!

Favorite Running Memory
Solo memory: Missing the 2020 Trials qualifier by 8 seconds at CIM in Dec, then begging the Houston Marathon director to let me in 3 weeks later to grab the qualifier a day before the window closed. Team memory: Winning the 2013 CHSAA XC championships as a team and individually since my brother also won 3 yrs before. Really, my entire senior yr with my coaches & relay team was special. Also top memory: Qualifying for 2024 Trials with 2 of my other GRC teammates after we surprised ourselves with huge PRs at CIM.
