Family
My partner's name is Travis. He's not an avid runner (he's a rock climber and snowboarder) but he often runs with me on my afternoon doubles. My dad, Kevin, is the OG athlete of the family as a former competitive cyclist. I was raised going to his races all around the Midwest. As a teenager, I got to join his bike team and pursue bike races during the summers, which was a ton of fun. Someday I hope to get back on the bike!
Greatest Accomplishment
In college, I dealt with a lengthy injury cycle that took me out of competition for two seasons in sophomore year, and significantly hampered my racing during junior year. The injury cycle was tied up with a growing issue with anxiety, which came to a head the summer before my senior year. With the help of family and friends, I finally sought out treatment for my anxiety, and was able to come back to college a happier and healthier person, both mentally and physically. I earned All-American honors that season in cross country, but I'm most proud of accepting that I needed help and seeking it out.
Interesting Story
As a very young kid, I used to race loops around my grandparents' house, and make my parents time me. Somehow, though, no one in my family thought this behavior might indicate an affinity for running, and I spent years trying to be a swimmer. I didn't realize how much I disliked swimming until I tried running in middle school, and loved it.

Favorite Running Memory
My yearly run around Lake Monona with my teammates Elena and Maddy back in high school. It was ridiculous; we always aimed to run on the coldest or snowiest day of the year, made the run excessively long (18 miles), and would stop at least once for coffee and cookies.
