Career Highlights
50th, 2022 Bank of America Chicago Marathon; 62nd, 2023 Boston Marathon; 93rd, 2023 BMW Berlin Marathon.
Family
I grew up in Massachusetts with two sisters. My older sister was a gymnast in high school. She is still very active and is very competitive in CrossFit. For work, she does research for a pharmaceutical company. My younger sister competed in cross country and all four years in high school. Currently, she works with underprivileged kids as an occupational therapist. Both still live in Massachusetts. My parents both grew up in Boston. My father works in computer software for a bank and my mother works for a real estate management company. I live in Texas with my girlfriend, Stephanie. We met at Northeastern University. After graduation, we both wanted to move to Austin, where she works as a product designer for Oracle.
Greatest Accomplishment
Qualifying for these Trials is definitely the most impressive thing I’ve ever done. In most other aspects of life, I am very normal.
Interesting Story
My plan to qualify for the Trials was to accomplish it at the 2023 Berlin Marathon. I had recently joined a local running group called Bat City Track Club and trained hard all summer in preparation. Unfortunately, I had set myself up for failure by underestimating the effect of jet lag. My plane landed in Germany 48 hours before the race start. Once the race started, I struggled to get through halfway on pace. Because of this, I didn’t even come close to the OTQ time. After this massive failure, I decided to sign up for the California International Marathon, which was on the last weekend to qualify. After continuing to train for two more months, I was able to cut more than four minutes off my PR and, more importantly, qualified for the Olympic Trials. After the Trials are over, I plan to finish the rest of the World Major marathons. I’ve run three of them with two former college teammates (shoutout James and Danny). We plan to do all six with New York up next.

Favorite Motivational Quote
“It's like in the great stories, Mr. Frodo. The ones that really mattered. Full of darkness and danger they were. And sometimes you didn't want to know the end. Because how could the end be happy? How could the world go back to the way it was when so much bad had happened? But in the end, it’s only a passing thing, this shadow. Even darkness must pass. A new day will come. And when the sun shines it will shine out the clearer. Those were the stories that stayed with you. That meant something, even if you were too small to understand why. But I think, Mr. Frodo, I do understand. I know now. Folk in those stories had lots of chances of turning back, only they didn’t. They kept going, because they were holding on to something. That there is some good in this world, and it's worth fighting for.” - Samwise Gamgee in Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
