My wife, Megan, works as a RN at a hospital and we have a 2-year-old son, Matthew. My parents, Pavel and Nelya, immigrated from Ukraine in 1997. I coach cross country and track at Adna High School with my father-in-law Karl, a retired firefighter.
Greatest Accomplishment
Starting a family with my better half. Becoming a professional firefighter/EMT for South Mason Fire & Rescue.
Interesting Story
After college I told myself I wasn’t ever going to run again, I was burnt out from it. Come a couple months later I was just jogging around for fun and my friend invited me to a Turkey Trot. Fast forward 6 years and I have qualified for the Olympic Trials. Running definitely had its up and downs trying to adjust to being a father and to starting a new job as a full-time firefighter/EMT while trying to adjust to the stresses of the job but at the same time trying to run high mileage has had its challenges.
