Family
I am married to my best friend and coach, Jesse. We have a Labrador Retriever puppy, Annie, and a cat, Nina. We blessed to be supported by amazing parents, siblings and extended family.
Greatest Accomplishment
So far, it's completing my bachelors degree in Health and Physical Education at Grand Valley State University while being a student athlete. I am proud to have this degree, but even more proud to reflect on the ways that I grew and changed during the process. I am thankful for all of the support I had along the way!
Interesting Story
In 9th grade, I decided to quit track. I was tired of a sport in which I was constantly putting myself through pain. (I hadn't learned to love running yet). I went home, thinking it would be so nice to have more free time without track practice in my life. At home, I couldn't bring myself to do anything fun. All I could think about was what my friends were doing. What were they talking about? What jokes was I missing out on? I missed them already. The next day, I went to my coach and told him I made a mistake. He graciously allowed me back on the team if I promised that I would finish out the season. I did, and went on to compete in many more track seasons. This is a huge shoutout to my teammates -who were the only reason I kept running. Because of you all I have made so many memories, had so many opportunities and met so many people. Thank you!

Favorite Running Memory
Going into the D1 high school state cross country meet during my sophomore year, my team was ranked 7th. Before the meet, my coach, Mark Johnson (fondly known as Mojo), gathered us together and told us to expect something special. He believed in us. When it came time for the race, I toed the line with six of my best friends. We raced hard for each other, giving it all we had. I will never forget the minutes that followed the race. My team huddled together as the display board showed the team scores, one-by-one, from last to first. The moment second place came on the board, we knew we had won. Yet, our eyes stayed pinned to the board, we couldn't believe it until we saw it. Eau Claire Memorial. Our name appeared and remained on the board. We cheered and hugged each other. This is one of my favorites memories and I got to experience it with my best friends.
