Family
My husband is Cayson Buchle.
Greatest Accomplishment
The biggest accomplishment of my life was running cross country and track on scholarship at the Division I university I love, as well as the work I put in during that time to achieve excellence both athletically and academically. The opportunities, relationships and growth that I experienced at Baylor ultimately changed the trajectory of my life!
Interesting Story
My running journey has been a story of resilience rooted in my faith. After taking two full years away from running following bi-lateral labral tears during my senior year of college, I slowly eased back into running in 2021. Long story short, once I started working with my brilliant coach in 2021 (Jeff Cunningham), my lifelong dreams of running a marathon became a reality in the same year! He then helped me go on to qualify for the 2024 Trials at the Jersey City Marathon in April 2023! Since qualifying for the Trials, I battled a torn hamstring tendon for six months, which ultimately required a PRP treatment in August 2023 and six weeks off. As I was easing back into running in October to start my training block for the trials, I suffered another injury in the same knee requiring surgical intervention. In an unfortunate series of events, I underwent knee surgery on Dec 7, just 8 weeks before the Trials ... but as always, I'm determined to defy the odds against me and toe the line on February 3.
