Family
I am happily engaged to my best friend, Sam. We met at Westfield State. He’s a professional hockey player for the FPHL team, the Port Huron Prowlers. I have an amazing family: my dad, mom, sister Rachael, and brothers Andrew and Joe make up the “Cardin Clan.” They’re all pretty awesome. My sister was a news reporter and was on TV before she became a bomb mom to my 2-year -nephew, Boh. My brothers are both welders, and often work in Boston/on the Cape.
Greatest Accomplishment
Trying to be a better version of myself every day for my loved ones and myself. Using the gifts that God has given me to benefit others, and make the best of the awesome life that God has granted me. I truly give 100% everyday I’m everything I do and I think that consistency, that drive, the determination, that grit that I learned from watching my father and mother work for everything I ever had growing up, is my greatest accomplishment. It trickles into running, education (I was a teacher for 5 years, and am now a part-time tutor and I love it!) and my day-to-day interactions with others.
Interesting Story
I was just a D III athlete who never thought they would be good enough to become a professional runner, let alone a professional marathoner. But I just worked hard every day, especially during COVID, while working full-time to make that happen. Once I joined Hansons-Brooks after a great performance at the USATF Half Marathon Championships in 2022, I told my coach that my goal was to qualify for the Olympic Marathon Trials and he told me, “I think that will just be the beginning for you.” So here I am, just a D III kid that had a dream, and worked her butt off to get here. I’m truly grateful for this experience and I can’t want to see how fast I can be now that I can devote all of my time to running, and shift that to being priority #1.

Favorite Running Memory
When my sister told me that we were going on a 3-mile run but it was actually 10 (she was in 12th grade, and I was in 7th). It was funny to look back on, but at the time it was awful.
