Family
My girlfriend and I have two dogs: Louie and Nala. They are pretty sweet. My nephew, Hudson DeGroote, is a very talented swimmer who will be competing for NC State this upcoming year.
Greatest Accomplishment
Qualifying for the Trials three times while working more than a full-time job; and navigating the complexities of training at a high level while setting my non-running career up for longevity.
Interesting Story
I ran one semester for UCCS my freshman year but then never competed after that at the college level. I ran with the Iowa State Running Club before graduating and became more serious about running. I've had three stress reactions/fractures including one in the sacrum. I was a teacher for years before eventually finding myself working as an underwriter but, in between those jobs, you could find me slinging mac and cheese from my good friend's food trucks in Denver.

Crossing the finish line at the 2022 Napa Valley Marathon, where I snuck under the qualifying time by three seconds. Those all came in the last mile!
