Family
I was born and raised in a small village, Begu, in Eritrea. I have four brothers and two sisters. My mom, dad and youngest sister live back home but the rest others live in different countries. I am a senior at Adams State University, and I will be graduating with a bachelor's in Sport Recreation Management and a minor in coaching. My parents and siblings don't support my running career. Their opinion on running is that they think I'm wasting my time. So, I never talk to my parents about running at all even when I win. I just love running because it is my lifestyle and my therapy.
Greatest Accomplishment
Overcoming adversity at a young age and I haven't seen my parents and sibling in 13 years, but I was able to come to America and continue my education, support my parents back home and able to compete at the colligate level, which is a blessing and huge accomplishment for myself.
