Family
My wife is also a postdoc, doing materials science research at ETH Zürich. We met while we were both PhD students at Caltech on a trip to Yosemite National Park. We are hoping to both be professors at the same university in a year or two!

Interesting Story
I'm the creator of www.lacctic.com, which uses statistics/math to adjust and rank college cross country. I also just finished my PhD this past summer! I generally work on statistical and machine learning methods for causality and am currently trying to apply it to biological problems (despite knowing very close to zero biology).

"Running" from the desert of Palm Springs (sea level-ish) to the top of Mount San Jacinto (10,500 ft). It was really cool to travel through so many climates/biomes in such a short period of time.
