Family
I met my wife Liz running; she ran at Wake Forest in college, and ran CIM in 2018. She comes from a family of runners. We love sharing easy miles together, especially when we vacation in Acadia National Park. We have a dog, Skyy (named after the vodka), who is part Weimaraner and was a bred running dog. We thought she would like running with us, but she is a total couch potato and refuses to do so. We have a rotating cast of dogs that we foster through the organization we adopted Skyy from, Last Hope K9. My older sister, Kate, likes to claim my success in running as her own, since she was on the cross country team with me in high school and drove me home from practice every day. My parents have always been the cheer squad, getting T-shirts and 6-foot-tall printouts of my face for the 2020 Trials.
Greatest Accomplishment
Throwing a banger of a good time at our wedding!
Interesting Story
In December of 2022, I was diagnosed with a navicular stress fracture and was non-weight bearing on crutches for a few months. During that time, I got a blood clot in the immobilized leg. I spent most of the spring in the pool and doing PT, and ramped up mileage over the course of the summer, and really only rounded back into fitness in the fall. It has been an extremely long road to get here, and I'm excited for the race.

Favorite Running Memory
2020 Olympic Trials - That race was so much fun, and I put everything into it. I was beyond pumped to run a PR that day and place how I did, but I was more excited by the love and excitement on the course. I had so many friends and family come watch, it was truly special, and I was able to push myself in ways I didn't know I could. I enjoyed every step.
